VIRTUAL DESKTOP INSTALLATION

On Headset: Purchase and Install Virtual Desktop
On Computer: Download and Install the Virtual Desktop Streamer App at this url: https://download.vrdesktop.net/files/VirtualDesktop.Streamer.Setup.exe
On Computer: Type your Oculus username into the Streamer app and click "Save".

SIDEQUEST INSTALLATION

The following instructions are essentially the same as on the SidequestVR website, but simplified and organized to follow the instructions more easily

On Computer: Make sure you are logged into Facebook with your default browser and follow these steps using the default browser.
On Computer: Download SideQuest at this url: https://sidequestvr.com/setup-howto
   * Chromebooks are not supported
On Computer: Install the SideQuest program by double-clicking the downloaded program.
On Computer: Create a SideQuest account at this url: https://sidequestvr.com/sign-up
On Computer: Login to the SideQuest app using the account you just created.
On Computer: Create an "Organization" at this url: https://dashboard.oculus.com/
   * The name of your organization isn't important. You can add "Dev" to your Oculus name and use that if you need a suggestion.
On Computer: Download the drivers at this url: https://developer.oculus.com/downloads/package/oculus-adb-drivers/
On Computer: Unzip the downloaded file and right-click on the file "android_winusb.inf". Left-click the Install option.
On Headset: If it's not already on, turn it on.
On Smartphone/Tablet: Using the same device you setup your Quest with, open the Oculus App.
    Tap Settings, then Tap the Headset, then tap "More Settings". Where it says "Developer Mode", tap or move the slider to turn it on.
On Headset: Hold the power button for a couple seconds, relase, then click on "Restart" to reboot your headset.
On Computer: Connect your headset to the computer via USB cable. Any "data" usb cable should work, it does not have to be a USB 3 cable.
On Headset: Your headset should show a prompt to allow data. Click "OK".
On Headset: Your headset should show a prompt to allow USB debugging. Check the "Always allow" checkbox, then click "OK".
On Computer: Your SideQuest app should now show a green dot next to your headset name if everything was done properly.
On Computer: Search for Virtual Desktop in the SideQuest app and click on it. Hover over where it says, "Virtual Desktop VR Patch" and click the Download arrow.
   * The Quest with Virtual Desktop installed must be connected during this step.

You should be all set now. To launch Rift and Steam VR games, run Virtual Desktop on your headset, click the left Oculus button to pull up the Virtual Desktop page, then select the new "Games" tab to find your Rift/Steam games.
